Sergeantsville Farmers' Market - Home Page
The Sergeantsville Farmers' Market is open every Saturday from 8:30 am - Noon!
"Everything from alpacas to zucchini!"
What's at the market this week?
At 10:00 am, The Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound group will invite all children, ages 3 and up, to listen to the reading of Stephen Huneck's "Sally Goes To The Vet." Children are encouraged to bring a favorite stuffed animal. A discussion about animal care and proper animal handling will follow. Several lovable hounds will be available for adoption. Come give them a great home - YOURS!
D.A.R.K., an HCHS capella group, will perform their renditions of songs you know and love. Come support these talented youth!
Most folks say Sweet Valley Farm's corn is the best in Hunterdon and SFM has it. Come in for the best Jersey Sweet corn around. Also available, summer vegetables such as tomatoes, lettuce, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes, onions, eggplant, peppers, potatoes, swiss chard and beans. Bring out the best taste of these, just out of the garden vegetables, with freshly picked herbs. Just delicious!
If you love fruit, sweet, juicy peaches are in! Just try to eat with one without juice dripping off your chin. Maybe you're a melonhead, large, sweet cantaloupes are here now.
For the beefeaters, enjoy sweet and hot sausage, boneless pork chops, steaks, and ground beef from Blue Jingler Farm. Chicken available for order. These are pastured pigs, chickens, and cattle, not caged animals. Grill some up with corn, squash and tomatoes for your outdoor barbecue.
This week, bring the kids to enjoy a ride on Keona Farm's beautiful pony! Meet and pet the cute alpacas from Abenaki Acres Farm.
Free range chicken eggs and locally produced cheeses (cheddars and mozzarella) are available.
Artisan breads and baked goods are back.
Pick from vegetable and landscape plants, flowers, handmade baskets, ground and whole bean coffee, unique handpainted pots, and locally crafted jewelry.
Your local farmers gladly recycle clean egg cartons and plastic shopping bags. Better yet, bring your own canvas bag. Help the environment twice by shopping with a reusable bag and buying local.
Any farmer or vendor interested in joining the market should contact the Market Coordinator, Jack Gaskill at 908-268-3641.
As the season progresses, twenty five vendors are expected to participate in this year’s market. Here’s the Jersey Fresh availability guide so you can plan your menus around the harvest schedule for the freshest produce we have to offer. Enjoy!MAY
